We all hear about how our industries are changing. Job profiles which were once considered important and/or hard to fill are being replaced by technological advancements and artificial intelligence! 

Hey, there are robots flipping burgers, serving at cafes and stocking warehouses. It won’t be too far into the future, when we have robots to greet us in stores and help us with our purchase. I.e. of course, if we continue to have physical stores like we currently do!! There will probably be retail showcases, where we can select what we like and then order online for a smooth and cost-saving purchase experience.

And, this is not happening only in retail! Technological innovation and artificial intelligence which includes- advances in big data, machine programming and so on, are changing which job skills continue to stay in demand.

In today’s day and age, it is important to constantly improve and enhance our skills so that we feel empowered and stay relevant in the changing landscape of our industry as well as our job profile.

Galileo Galilei was an Italian astronomer, physicist and engineer. He has been called the “Father of Observational Astronomy” and also the “Father of Modern Science”. Galileo studied speed and velocity, gravity and free fall along with the principle of relativity, inertia, projectile motion and also worked in applied science and technology. He invented the thermoscope and various military compasses.

Galileo is probably most known as the person who first introduced the concept of Sun being at the center of our solar system. This also got him in trouble with the Roman Church, which until then were his greatest supporters. He was tried by the Inquisition and found to be a heretic and forced to recant! He was put under house arrest for the rest of his life.  It is during this time that he wrote his final book, Two New Sciences.
